Self-Love, Body-Love and My TNBC Journey with AmplifyHer Media
This is one of those conversations where you feel the tears in your eyes and a calm over your heart. I started the year with Christina Singh, CEO and founder of AmplifyHer Media for a powerful conversation about my experience with TNBC at 28 and my journey of self-love during one of the hardest times of my life.
While treatment was hard, survivorship hit me like a train. I poured into advocacy, peer-to-peer groups and decided to jump into an energy course, The Joy Method, led by Stéphanie Virchaux. During one of our weekly sessions, Christina signed-on as a guest speaker and shared her mission to lift up women’s voices and stories. She was raw, real and so passionate that you could hear it in the trembling as she spoke. Her work makes a difference.
That beautiful meeting of the minds paved the way to this conversation I am sharing with you today.

Some Quotes from the Episode:
Christina asked about my journey with TNBC but also delivered thought-provoking questions on self-love, self-advocacy and showing up to face your greatest fears. Here are some quotes from the episode:
23:52 “Survivorship is hard … It’s learning to love who I am and learning to love the body that got me through it.”
25:26 “I strongly believe we are better and stronger together. I think by sharing our stories, vulnerability is a strength. And that is what helps us get through these dark times— is knowing it will get better.”
41:40 “I’ve told doctors and I’ve told nurses I’m probably going to cry through this appointment, but I am here.”
45:24 “Loving yourself into change … Self-love is a journey. But when we recognize that we want to be better because we love ourselves, that’s a really special place to come from.”
Thank you, Christina, for lifting up my voice. I loved our time together, and I cannot wait to see the stories you’ll bring to light this year.

About My Diagnosis with TNBC:
At 28, the kindness of a nurse made me question not getting a breast exam. I quickly learned to listen to my gut, speak up and advocate for myself. A few weeks later, I was diagnosed with stage 2B, grade 3 triple negative breast cancer. To honor the nurse and help others, I decided to share my journey on social media and launch the Chemo to Kindness Challenge. The challenge inspired more than 1,700 acts of kindness around the world and fueled an online community with the reality of a young woman facing breast cancer.
