I donated 2 chickens to a family in poverty through @worldvision in honor of my (kind of) step sister @loreleicolbert and her fight against breast cancer. She's hoping to inspire 1600 acts of kindness over her 16 weeks of chemotherapy. Even in this crazy part of her life, she's focused on making a difference for other people. Whenever you have a chance to, please be kind.

I know how important community is and so thank you for reminding me to share gratitude and give thanks to the people in my tribe that make each day brighter. I spent the afternoon baking my favorite cookies with my son and writing out the recipe for my mom tribe. We also put together toddler snack goodie bags for Bobby to give to his friends. 💕Today my virtual grades 3-5 learned about a very special former Warrior, Lorelei Colbert, and her very special challenge that she began as she battles breast cancer called #1600acts She is hoping to record 1600 acts of kindness as she courageously blasts through her sessions of chemotherapy treatments. *WSS artists learned how to draw a 3-D awareness ribbon that will honor someone special in their lives and they pledged to perform an act of kindness over our break. At the end of class I picked one student to select a classmate who they felt embodied the Warrior spirit just like Lorelei. That student had to share why they selected their classmate and they both received Warrior Way pink tickets. One student described the person they chose as reliable, caring, easy to talk to and makes them smile! I was filled with tears of JOY all day! 💕Lorelei, we are so proud of you! WSS supports You and #1600acts You exemplify our Warrior Way! Go #teamlorelei !💕

Today I went to my very first vendor event to try and sell some of my paintings. As I was setting up, a little girl (maybe 10 years old) came up to my display and very excitedly ask how much for one of my hearts. I told her and she dropped her head and said thank you and walked off. I finished setting up and looked over at another vendor's booth and saw her sitting quietly as her mom was setting up her things. I thought how excited the little girl was about that heart, so I took it down from my display and took it over to her. I asked her..."was this the one you wanted?" Her eyes got wide as she said "YES". So I handed it over to her and said, "Here you go". She lit up like a Christmas tree. She thanked me several times and ran to show it to her mom. I felt pretty pleased to see how happy that made her. I went back to my booth and a few minutes later she came running up to me and handed me a drawing that she had made for me. My heart is full !! #TeamLorelei #1600Acts

Hickory Chair has has an employee support center named for Donna Musick, a long term employee that was responsible for employee and environmental safety. She battled breast cancer and then bone and brain cancer. She worked up until a month before her passing. We created a food pantry, closet and supply chest for school supplies in her memory. Today I took a few items to restock and saw the most bare set shelves I had ever seen. I made a nice financial donation to restock the shelves. #1600acts

It’s not glamorous, but today I picked up a bunch of dog poop from other dogs at the dog park, so no one has to risk stepping in poo. #1600acts #TeamLorelei
My family lives in a community of townhomes which was recently graffitied. We took our two sons (3 and 6 yrs old) to Home Depot and rented a power washer and they helped us power wash the graffiti off. It was a great opportunity to teach them about pitching in within their community and how every choice has an effect on other people.
